Yeah!

I've got two hits already!!!

77th note entered - travelled 11.0km in six days
http://www.moneytracker.com.au/note/32900.html
81st note entered - travelled 11.5km in two days

The key to my success is probably that I send out about half of my notes with an address label (Avery inkjet J8651 - 38.1mm x 21.2mm).

The label says "Where's this note been?" with www.moneytracker.com.au underneath.

I choose which notes to hand out where. I don't like to give labelled notes to shopkeepers whom I know well, and it's wasteful to hand labelled notes to banks or other places where it will be immediately peeled off.

I try to pass off a labelled note together with an unlabelled note. I put the label between the two, and they're always accepted.

I've only had one cashier peel off the label. I only owed one banknote that time, and she found the label when she turned it over to put it in her cash register. I feigned ignorance and curiosity, and she was none the wiser. She even handed the label back to me, suggesting that I might want to get online and see what this was all about.

Cheers, and have fun!

Good job. The only hit I ever got was with a labelled note. It went over 2000k's from Geelong to Townsville (via Melbourne Airport.)

I've entered 485 notes (and more under my old account) with zero hits

It's all about the labels. I normally don't bother (it's a bit awkward spending them) but since I knew I was going to the airport, I printed off a sheet, figuring it was worth it since they could go anywhere in Australia, and that being a busy place, no-one would bother looking. I spent the note at Hungry Jacks, adn offit went to Townsville. If you don't mind labelling them all the time, then go for it. its interesting that about the same percentage of toatl US$ and AUS$ are tracked on their respective sites (here and Where's George,) but 10% of US notes get hit (which for me would mean 80 hits. The only note I've ever found had come from Canberra, about a year earlier. No label; absolute fluke! Happy tracking
